An Anniversary Fundraiser for RSPCA Queensland

Three years ago, Arabella Wang Art Gallery opened with a simple belief that has guided every brushstroke since:

"To create is to reconnect."

What began as a studio dedicated to narrowing the distance between mankind and the wild has grown into a living sanctuary in the heart of Brisbane. Over these three years, you have walked with us through stories of wild parrots and panthers in Into The Wild, quiet luminescence in Peiskos, and the transformational gaze of Bluemoon.

For our 3rd anniversary, we wanted to celebrate differently. Not just with art on the walls, but with art that gives back.

Why RSPCA QLD?

Driven by a profound reverence for life, my practice has always been guided by reciprocity — to create not only to capture the splendor of the natural world but to actively advocate for the flora and fauna in need.

RSPCA QLD rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes animals across the state, caring for over 52,000 animals every year. It is the only charitable body responsible for investigating and prosecuting cruelty cases within Queensland, and it does this with less than 3% government funding annually.

They give life a second chance. As artists, we want to help paint that second chance.

“You can’t change a dog’s past, but you could rewrite his future.”

We wish to provide this opportunity to RSPCA Brisbane where the new adopted pet can come with their owner to paint their first portrait together. Hopefully this can be helpful with raising awareness locally and to encourage more people to adopt instead of purchasing pets.

Imagine: a newly adopted family, sitting together in the gallery, creating their very first artwork as a family. It is not just a painting class. It is a ritual of belonging.

A refined collection of hand painted artworks devoted to celebrating nature and supporting local animal and conservation charities — this is what we have always aspired to be. This anniversary, we make that commitment tangible.

How You Can Join Us: Art for Animals Fundraiser

We have launched an official fundraiser as part of RSPCA's I Am For Animals campaign:

→ Donate & support here: iamforanimals.org.au

I am for doing things my own way and will be raising funds for one of my favourite charities, RSPCA QLD.

Every dollar goes directly to RSPCA QLD to provide a safe space for wildlife, domestic and farm animals, and to fund their Inspectorate which received over 17,800 reports of cruelty last year.

Ways to celebrate with us:

1. Donate to the Fundraiser: 100% of proceeds support RSPCA QLD. Together we can make a difference in the lives of the animals of Queensland.

2. Visit the Gallery Anniversary Exhibition: We will be showcasing a special mini-collection where a portion of sales will be added to the fundraiser.

3. Book a Pet Portrait Session: Bring your rescue story to the canvas. Share your adoption story with us in the gallery.

Thank you for three years of reconnection, of empathy and healing, of believing that art remains a living sanctuary for all existence.

This anniversary belongs to you — and to every paw, wing, and wild heart you have helped us protect.
