Hotto Potto Brisbane City Mural

For Hotto Potto Brisbane City, I didn't just paint a wall — I painted their logo, their story.

The mural centers on their lucky cats. Not one, but a gathering of lucky cats from different cultures sitting together around sharing hot pot.

In Japan, it is Maneki-neko. In China, it is Zhaocai Mao. In different forms across Asia, the lucky cat has always meant the same thing — beckoning prosperity, abundance, and good fortune.

I painted them together because that is what hot pot means.

Hot pot is never a solitary meal. It is sharing, waiting, laughing, and cooking for each other in one pot. It is many cultures, many hands, one warmth. Just like these lucky cats — different colors, different patterns, different origins — but all gathered at the same table, sharing the same fortune.

The mural transforms the restaurant's logo into a symbol of reunion. When you dine under it, you are not just a customer. You are part of the gathering.
